The 2010 Florence Nightingale £2 coin was issued by The Royal Mint to mark the 100th anniversary of her death and to honour her legacy as the founder of modern nursing.
The reverse design, by artist Glyn Davies, features hands offering comfort and care, symbolising Nightingale’s compassion and contribution to healthcare reform. The design also includes her name and life dates: “Florence Nightingale 1820–1910”.
